Studies at public universities in Denmark are tuition-free for EU citizens, which gives you a huge financial advantage over most Western European countries.

Cost of living
All of Scandinavia, including Denmark, is relatively expensive. This is something to be prepared for when choosing this country. The most expensive city is Copenhagen, where students spend on average 200 - 300€ more per month than in other locations.

The biggest expense is accommodation. Prices are higher in Copenhagen. Student residences can often be slightly cheaper than accommodation on the private market.

SU scholarship
You can receive around PLN 4000 per month in non-repayable support if you work min. 10-12 hours per week in Denmark. This is the only criterion to receive this scholarship!

Application to universities in Denmark

Terminy aplikacji
For a bachelor’s degree, you apply through Optagelse.dk by 15 March, you submit some documents at the beginning of July (including certificates) and the results are released at the end of July. For a master’s degree, the deadline is usually 1 March and the results are typically in May or June (you can submit your bachelor’s diploma later).
Important information
For a bachelor’s degree, you can apply to a maximum of 8 programs and must rank them in order of preference. For a master’s degree, you apply through university systems, often to a maximum of 3 programs at one university - there are no restrictions on the total number of master’s programs you can apply to.
Quota 1 and Quota 2
Quota 1 is based mainly on secondary school and school-leaving exam results. Quota 2 also takes into account your CV, motivation letter, experience, activities and sometimes a test or interview. Many universities allow you to apply through both routes at the same time, which increases your chances.D
How to get accepted?
In Quota 1, high grades and school-leaving exam results are key. In Quota 2, the candidate’s full profile matters - CV, motivation, experience, activities and fit with the degree program, and sometimes also tests (requirements depend on the program). For a master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree diploma, transcript of grades, relevance of previous studies and additional documents like a CV etc. are required.
Language requirements
Most commonly required are IELTS 6.0-6.5, TOEFL iBT approx. 83-100 or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency. The certificate usually needs to be submitted by the beginning of July. Polish candidates usually meet the English language requirement automatically through their school education - although not in every case
