Important information

At the University of Malta, you can apply for only 2 degree programmes, so choosing the right programme is very important. You should also pay attention to any specific requirements for individual programmes (e.g. relevant advanced-level subjects, an interview or a portfolio).

How to get admitted?

The success of your application depends on your school-leaving exam results, final grades, CV, personal statement and sometimes an admissions interview - the last three are your opportunity to stand out. The University of Malta has strict minimum thresholds, including an average school-leaving exam score of approx. 65% (from any 3 exams), with possible additional requirements for specific school-leaving exam subjects and required grades in particular subject groups.

Language requirements

A language certificate is mandatory. The most commonly accepted qualifications are IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT and Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency. A B2 level is required for virtually all degree programmes. You must have the certificate at the time of application

Application documents

In addition to certificates, certified translations and a language certificate, it is worth preparing a strong CV and personal statement. In Malta, these elements can genuinely help you stand out, especially for programmes with limited places. Additionally, at MCAST it may be necessary to obtain additional accreditation issued by an external institution.
